Ferry transport

As of July 1, 2023 the Ministry of Regional Affairs and Agriculture co-ordinates the development of county and nationwide public transport. Additional information info@agri.ee. The Ministry organizes regional passenger transport by ferries to the islands of Saaremaa, Hiiumaa and Ruhnu as well as carrying out procurements of regional ferry lines, co-ordinating timetables and setting ticket prices.

Public transport authorities organize county passenger transport by ferries to the islands of Vormsi, Kihnu, Manija and Piirissaar and carry out procurements of county shipping lines.

More than 90% of passengers are transported between mainland and Hiiumaa and Saaremaa islands.
